Acupunture is a very gentle yet very effective treatment for helping you revert back to your natural fertile state. However, if ever there was a need for a holistic approach to a condition, fertility is one.
Our bodies are extremely clever and will not allow a developing foetus enter into a sub optimal environment. At AcuWellness the treatment comes from three different angles:
• The Physiological aspect is treated with Acupuncture
• The Nutritional aspect is addressed with supplement advice or herbal prescriptions
• The Mindfulness aspect is encouraged with stress reducing exercises
Physiologically defects such as hormonal issues , polycystic ovarian syndrome, immune factors, low egg quantity, low sperm count, low sperm motility amongst many others may be the cause.
Nutritional deficiencies are very common. Zinc is very important from a hormone balancing perspective. It also forms the outer layer and tail of sperm cells. Omega 3 fatty acids are pivotal to drawing down inflammation within the body which can interfere with conceiving but also with holding the baby to full term. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and is thought to help significantly with the integrity of sperm. Selenium is another antioxidant that can prevent chromosomal breakages which can lead to miscarriage or birth defects. Folic acid with Vitamin B12 ensures the genetic material in the egg & sperm DNA are of good quality to produce a solid genetic code for the baby. An analysis of your daily diet can be done to see where supplementation may be required.
Mindfulness:Once again our bodies will not allow new life be born into a stressful environment. Stress increases our cortisol and adrenaline levels. High levels of these hormones trigger a cascade of biochemical reactions in our bodies resulting in unfavourable conditions for a successful conception. Advice and daily practices will be made available to you to gain back control over your reproductive health.
Go easy on yourself: We live in a great world but along with that greatness came the added stress levels, increased toxins in our food and the air that we breath. Without us even knowing our bodies have had to make massive adjustments just to keep up with the day to day demands we ask of it. The human body is resilient but not invincible. Sometimes it needs help!
