Digestive Disorders
Acupuncture treats a range of common digestive disorders. The food we eat, the frequency at which we consume it and potential toxins within it can all stagnate the free flow of energy through our gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Acupuncture corrects this flow reducing pain and discomfort. Nutritional medicine now recognises that our GI tract is an extension of our brain, something Eastern medicine had long accepted. Each treatment for a digestive disorder will assess the emotional well being of the patient to ensure the root cause of the ailment is treated preventing reoccurrence.
Conditions treated:
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Diarrhoea
- Diverticulitis
- Heart burn
- IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
- Nausea
- Reflux
Western herbs may be prescribed for some of the more chronic conditions. Following that, nutrition is a key part of keeping our digestive tract functioning optimally. Advice on incorporating anti-inflammatory foods, hormone regulating and immune stimulating foods will be provided where applicable. Supplements may be suggested for continued gut health.
